Mud Room, Half Bathroom, Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, Main Bathroom, Guest Room, Guest Bathroom, & Laundry Room
whole house remodel /
Lyn didn’t want this house. One of the most dysfunctional kitchen layouts known to humankind, a single bathroom located on the second floor, and a compromise on location left her feeling stuck in a place that wasn’t for her. She dreamed of a peaceful sanctuary. A home with clean lines, natural materials, and minimal distractions. A place where she actually wanted to be. The vision for the remodel was inspired by Lyn’s love of Japandi style interior design and Scandinavian minimalism, combined with the practical need to squeeze into the existing footprint of the house. The results are breathtaking. A stunning open concept kitchen and dining area maximize the space, while an added mud room and half bathroom add much needed functionality. Upstairs, the main bathroom was treated to a luxury spa worthy makeover, while the awkwardly laid out laundry room/office was re-envisioned as a guest room with a new ensuite bathroom. Lyn actually wants to be home now. She lingers in places she once dashed through; relishes in views she once couldn’t stand. Her home, and everything in it, is now undeniably for her.
